In Conversation: Jay Pandya on AI and New-age Technology
AI is a revolutionary technology. A growing number of businesses from the IT sector and beyond are already adopting it to improve practices, make better decisions, and build new solutions. As these systems become more innovative, companies with a solid grasp of AI fundamentals will likely hold a significant edge over their competition.
We spoke with Jay Pandya, Director—Business Operations, Imperative Business Ventures Limited about this trending topic. Mr. Pandya was one of the exhibitors at Smart Tech Asia 2025, where he and his team showcased their company’s AI solutions.
A pioneering force in business management solutions, Pandya shares his thoughts on AI’s transformative impact, the responsibilities of those deploying it, and the future of business in the age of AI.
As a player in IT solutions, how does Imperative Business Ventures assist various companies in transforming, optimizing, and accelerating their technology requirements?
Pandya: At Imperative Business Ventures Limited (IBVL) we assist companies in transforming, optimizing, and accelerating their technology requirements by offering a comprehensive suite of services and solutions. IBVL has invested in R&D and is developing more than 21 AI-enabled software products, complemented with AI, ML, and RPA, which help BFSI, NBFC, healthcare, telecom, retail, hospitality, media & entertainment, and leading corporates automate their business processes. We adopt an agile methodology and leverage open-source platforms to deliver industry-specific solutions that drive business growth.
Are you using AI in any of your company’s solutions/services?
Pandya: Yes, we specialize in cutting-edge technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Data Science, Python, PHP, Java, and Machine Learning. Imperative develops tailored software solutions to meet industry needs.
Our product portfolio includes AI-enabled tools like Impera SMART for invoice processing and reconciliation, Impera E-Commerce for digital marketplaces, Impera AIO for integrated messaging, and Imperattive.Ai for enhanced data analysis. These solutions streamline operations, improve efficiency, and drive innovation across various business functions.
As a leader, how do you approach cybersecurity in the workplace?
Pandya: Cybersecurity is not just an IT issue—it’s a business priority. I believe in a proactive rather than reactive approach, which includes:
- Implementing robust security protocols (firewalls, encryption, MFA, etc.).
- Regular vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate risks before they become threats.
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards like GDPR, ISO 27001, or NIST frameworks.
No security system is foolproof if employees are unaware of risks. I advocate for rregular cybersecurity training to prevent phishing, social engineering, and malware attacks.
How do you envision the future of business in the age of AI and new-age technology? What is your global perspective by 2030?
Pandya: By 2030, AI and emerging technologies will fundamentally redefine business landscapes, making organizations more autonomous, intelligent, and adaptive.
AI will become more interactive, personal, and capable of reasoning. More automation will shift job markets, but new roles will emerge in AI supervision and creative fields.
The key challenge is ensuring it develops in a way that benefits humanity rather than harms it. The future depends on how people controlling AI decide to use the technology. If it falls into the wrong hands, AI could be used to expose people’s personal information, spread misinformation, and perpetuate social inequalities, among other malicious use cases. More government bodies will have to enforce AI transparency, safety, and ethical standards policies.
How do you see AI and human workers collaborating across sectors?
Pandya: AI is a powerful tool that can automate tasks, improve efficiency, and assist in decision-making, but it is unlikely to completely replace humans. Instead, AI is more likely to complement human abilities by handling repetitive tasks, allowing people to focus on creativity, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.
Do you have any advice for future leaders in IT solutions?
Pandya: The future of business will be AI-driven, sustainable, and decentralized. Organizations that embrace AI innovation, adapt to technological advancements, and prioritize sustainability will lead the way into the next decade. IT is about people as much as technology, so be an approachable leader who listens, supports, and empowers teams.
