AI Innovation: In Conversation with Gregory Shein, CEO and Founder of NOMADIC SOFT

Gregory Shein on the Rise of AI Models: DeepSeek and OpenAI

Innovation Vs. Legacy: Driving ROI in Tech In the rapidly shifting tech landscape, businesses are constantly torn between maintaining legacy systems and adopting innovations. While legacy infrastructure may offer stability, the push for modernization presents both risk and reward. So, how can leaders manage the trade-off between maintaining old systems and driving innovation? This series will explore how tech leaders are navigating this dilemma, turning the challenge of modernization into a strategic advantage—transforming risk into opportunity and positioning themselves for sustainable growth.

AI technologies are becoming the backbone of modern business strategy, from automating customer interactions to transforming data processing. Among the frontrunners in this AI revolution are OpenAI and DeepSeek. Two models with distinct strengths that are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.

Gregory Shein, CEO and Founder of Nomadic Soft, offers valuable insights into the future of AI innovation. We talked about how these two prominent models will impact the business landscape.

His views shed light on the competitive edge each model holds, how they cater to different business needs, and what the next few years may hold.

Gregory, you have a clear understanding of how AI is reshaping business practices. How do you see AI models like DeepSeek and OpenAI evolving over the next few years?

Shein: The evolution of AI models, such as DeepSeek and OpenAI, will likely lead to enhanced automation and more intelligent decision-making, reshaping technology and business practices across various sectors in the coming years.

As AI models continue to evolve, they will become increasingly sophisticated, providing more effective solutions for industries ranging from customer service to data analysis. Ultimately, these advancements will empower businesses to make more informed decisions and automate complex processes.

You mentioned that OpenAI excels in terms of performance and scalability. Can you expand on why OpenAI is particularly effective for complex business use cases compared to DeepSeek?

Shein: OpenAI typically excels due to its extensive resources and established infrastructure. OpenAI’s proven track record with large-scale implementations makes it highly effective for complex business use cases, particularly in areas like marketing automation and customer service.

While DeepSeek shows great potential, it’s still in the process of refining its capabilities. OpenAI’s maturity and scalability make it a more practical choice for businesses looking for robust, high-performance AI solutions.

With OpenAI’s market leadership, do you think it will continue to dominate the AI industry? Do you see emerging competitors like DeepSeek gaining ground?

Shein: Yes, I believe OpenAI is better positioned to lead the AI industry in the next five years.

Its strong partnerships with major industry players, as well as its continuous advancements in model training, give it a significant edge. OpenAI has established a robust support infrastructure that ensures its solutions are reliable and scalable. It is crucial for businesses seeking to integrate AI into their operations.

As DeepSeek continues to grow, do you think it will pursue strategic partnerships similar to OpenAI to boost its capabilities?

Shein: I do believe DeepSeek will pursue strategic collaborations, much like OpenAI has. Collaborations with larger organizations could enhance its capabilities and extend its market reach. However, there’s also the possibility that DeepSeek may choose to maintain its independence, focusing on niche applications that require precision, such as finance or engineering. Both approaches have their advantages, and I think DeepSeek will carefully assess which strategy best supports its long-term goals.

As businesses increasingly expand globally, how do you see OpenAI and DeepSeek handling cross-border regulatory complexities?

Shein: OpenAI is definitely better equipped to scale internationally, given its established frameworks for navigating cross-border regulations. It’s already addressing key issues like data privacy and compliance, which are critical when scaling AI solutions across multiple regions. OpenAI’s infrastructure has been built to accommodate different legal frameworks. This makes it a more practical solution for global businesses that need to adhere to varying laws and standards.

Could you share an example of how AI—specifically OpenAI—has had a transformative impact on your organization?

Shein: OpenAI’s use of natural language processing in customer service chatbots has been a game-changer for us. By automating interactions, we’ve seen a dramatic improvement in response times and customer satisfaction. The AI can handle a wide variety of queries with accuracy and efficiency, which allows our team to focus on more complex tasks. It’s streamlined our processes, boosted productivity, and ultimately created a better experience for our clients.
